团队成立至今已经有近40年历史，是中华医学会耳鼻咽喉头颈外科分会小儿学组组长单位，倪鑫教授现任中国抗癌协会头颈专业委员会副主任委员。团队专业设置分为耳科、鼻科、咽喉科、头颈外科。年门诊量约20万人次，病房年手术量3400余例；科研方面，主要方向为头颈部疾病、儿童睡眠医学及儿童药物研发，并在儿童头颈肿瘤规范治疗、梨状窝瘘微创治疗、幼年型复发性呼吸道乳头状瘤的基础研究及儿童喉气道疾病功能手术方面成绩显著。

        团队先后牵头建立儿童耳鼻咽喉头颈外科疾病北京市重点实验室、儿童临床数据与样本资源库、儿童上气道阻塞性疾病临床诊疗与研究中心等学科发展平台，现已经形成临床与实验室相结合的转化医学团队。在国际上率先推动小儿耳鼻喉专业向耳、鼻、咽喉、头颈四个亚专业纵深发展，补齐了小儿耳鼻喉专业的短板。首次提出“儿童头颈外科”概念并创建儿童头颈外科亚专业，实现了从0到1的起步，成为国家儿童医学中心特色专业之一。

        在创新团队建设过程中，医院积极保障团队所需要的相关人、财、物、场地条件的投入，充分整合现有可用资源、创造条件、理顺机制、加强与国内外相关领域的合作，提供科学有力的保障。在岗位设置和人才培养方面，我院积极为团队引进科研人才，形成了结构合理的人才梯队。在科研场所和实验平台方面，建立样本库平台、重点实验室平台、研究所仪器共享平台，同时大力支持团队的基础设施建设和科研项目进展，在仪器购置、科研项目配套等方面投入经费。
